Free Open Source Software available for download or as a hosted solution for Small and Medium Businesses. Financial Portal has been expanded and is now a transaction system as well as an accounting system.  Financial Portal is designed for Small and Medium Customers who need to improve their financial visibility into the ever changing global supply chains and changing distribution channels and need the flexibility to map financial relationships without losing control or auditability.

Financial Portal is a flexible ebusiness transaction and accounting portal with real time Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Accounts Receiveable , Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Reconciliation for 1) Bank and Credit Cards, 2) Commission, 3) Freight and 4) Warranty. Brokerage and Direct Shipment will be available in a future release.

Originally written in 2003 in Java to address the need of a real time financial system which had become popular on the desktop but had not yet evolved for the midrange customer. Additionally, we needed browser based remote access to the system. Simple transaction reversal and modification without losing the audit trail were included. Reporting is real time through the Information Portal. It takes awhile for executives to get comfortable with seeing the real time status of the companies if they were used to highly polished monthly statements (often produced later). Finding out at month end became less valuable over time. Up to date information allowed earlier investigative or corrective action much sooner. Every operational transaction with financial impact is immediately posted to the General Ledger.

Currently deployed on Ubuntu Linux on Apache/Tomcat on a PostgresSQL data base. Financial Portal is written in J2EE on the MyEclipse IDE with Junits, Jmeter for testing.

Financial Portal will be available on Sourceforge for download in March, 2008 (it just took a little longer than we thought).

Real Time Transaction Cycle:

 The Transaction System allows companies to easily automate their Selling and Purchasing Cycles. The Selling Cycle has Blanket Sales Orders, Packing List, and Individual Sales Contracts.  The Purchasing Cycle has Blank Purchase Orders, Warehouse Receivers, Individual Purchase Order Receipts.  Inventory Managent provides complete inventory tracking with the ability to upload inventory adjustments.  Transaction voiding creates a financial and inventory audit trail of the transaction reversal.  Brokerage and Direct Shipment processing will be available in a future release.

A Real Time Financial and Accounting system giving companies the ability to control and track their financial flow. Designed to be flexible and easy-to-use, the Financial Portal can be run as a stand alone application or integrated. Financial Portal is multicompany, multilocation, multicurrency, and uses InfoPortal for reporting for standard financial, historical, tax reporting, and operational metrics.
